The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity is offering grants to small businesses for up to $25,000 to support working capital expenses during the Covid-19 crisis. Carterville businesses interested in this program can complete the attached abbreviated application and return it to City Hall. Once received, the applications will be forwarded to our grant writers who will work directly with the businesses to help complete all the grant’s requirements. The State of Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has released a flowchart to assist business owners in determinig if their business is considered an essential business under Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order. Carterville City Hall has fielded a few questions on this topic so far. Hopefully, this document will be helpful to those business owners and management.

The Carterville United Food Pantry is currently closed to the public through March 31, 2020. The Pantry will continue to distribute food using the modified hours listed below.
Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:00am – 10:00am.

3/18/2020 1:00 pm: The Boil Water Order for the Ward 1 waterline construction area has been LIFTED. Please contact the Carterville Water Department with questions. 618-985-2011.
The final water main cut, caps, and connections were completed today on the Ward 1 waterline replacement project. Though the boil water order remains in effect for the construction area, samples are being taken to the lab Tuesday morning. We expect results and lifting of the boil order in 24-48 hours.
