Carterville Sewer Department – Smoke Testing

The City of Carterville Sewer Department will be smoke testing during business hours on October 26-28th, 2021.  The purpose of the smoke testing is to find inappropriate sewer system connections as well as areas of storm water infiltration.  The affected areas involve East Grand, Hafer Road, and Peach Street (all in Ward 4).

Carterville Fire Department Seeking EMTs and Paramedics

The Carterville Fire Department is accepting applications for part-time IDPH Licensed Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics.  Carterville Fire Department is a combination department that provides emergency ALS ambulance protection for the City of Carterville, Village of Crainville, Village of Colp, and other unincorporated areas in western Williamson County, Illinois.  Shifts are available in 8, 12, and 24 hour increments.  EMTs are paid $12.00 per hour plus $20 per call bonus.  Paramedics are paid $14.00 per hour plus $20 per call bonus.  This year, Carterville FD is averaging about 4 ambulance calls per day.
