If you had the chance to sit in one of our classrooms, stroll the hallway at one of our new school facilities, talk to one of our teachers, or simply catch the excitement of a Carterville High School football game, you’d realize quickly that there is something different about Carterville schools.
In Carterville, we have a rich tradition of more than 100 years for providing excellence in education and the highest standards in academic achievement, and this tradition continues today. Our district begins with the creation of a strong foundation in the early years at Tri-C Elementary. Tri-C Elementary opened its doors in 2002. Our elementary serves K-4 students in an engaging environment that is heavily supported through strong interventions, parental support, and an emphasis on technology in the classroom. Students then move to our intermediate school to continue the challenging educational experience in 5th -8th grade. Carterville Intermediate provides a plethora of extra-curricular activities and continues to promote a culture of academic excellence for our students. The experience continues for our students as they enter high school.
Carterville is proud of its brand new state-of-the-art Carterville High School facility, opened just in time for the 2011-12 school year. This state-of-the-art venue is filled with attention-to-details and features such as a 750-seat performing arts theatre, a science wing with fully-equipped laboratories, and an exceptional culinary department. Carterville High School was ranked in the top 5% of Illinois high schools in 2011 (according to SchoolDigger.com). Typically, approximately 25% of graduates attend 4-year universities and 70% of graduates attend community college. In 2010, 37 students received more than $500,000 in college scholarships.
Carterville education has always been a top priority in the community and its standards have truly set the bar for schools. Students for more than 100 years have had a wonderful experience in our school systems and have great pride in attending Carterville schools.
