If you had the chance to sit in one of our classrooms, stroll the hallway at one of our new school facilities, talk to one of our teachers, or simply catch the excitement of a Carterville High School football game, you’d realize quickly that there is something different about Carterville schools.

In Carterville, we have a rich tradition of more than 100 years for providing excellence in education and the highest standards in academic achievement, and this tradition continues today.  Carterville High School was ranked in the top 7% of Illinois high schools in 2004 (according to SchoolDigger.com).  With a total enrollment of 1,750+ students in Carterville Unit #5 School District, the high school enrollment is 460+ students.  In 2010, more than 86% of the graduates attended college, and 37 students received more than $500,000 in college scholarships that same year.

Carterville is proud of its brand-new Carterville High School facility, opened just in time for the 2011-12 school year.  This state-of-the-art venue is filled with attention-to-details and features such as a 750-seat performing arts theatre, a science wing with fully-equipped laboratories, and an exceptional culinary department.
