For the past several years The City of Carterville has sponsored an Independence Day Celebration.  Weather permitting, the Carterville Fire Department Volunteers work tirelessly digging trenches and setting cannisters to provide a spectacular fireworks display for the residents and countless visitors to enjoy.  Fireworks are set to start just after dusk at Cannon Park in Carterville.  Parking spaces are provided and a large area to bring lawnchairs or blankets and enjoy the show.  The Fire Department works very hard to make the annual display one of the best in Southern Illinois!

The 2019 4th of July Celebration plans are in the works! This year there will be food, fireworks and more! More details to follow.
