The Ameren Illinois Price to Compare for October 1, 2024 – May 31, 2025 has come in at $0.0809/kWh. This is a slight decline to their summer rate this year. Homefield Energy’s aggregation rate remains at $0.091/kWh through the June 2025 meter readings.
If Carterville residents wish to opt-out of the aggregation program at this time, they should contact Homefield Energy at 866-694-1262 to request to be removed from the program. Remember, the State of Illinois mandates someone leaving an aggregation group remain on Ameren’s default supply for a total of 12-months before they would be eligible to rejoin the aggregation program in the future.
The average U.S. household uses 900 kWh per month. For comparison sake, a resident using 900 kWh’s a month right now would pay $81.90/month as a part of the Carterville municipal aggregation program with Homefield Energy. If that same resident using 900 kWh’s a month opted out and returned to Ameren’s default electric supply service, they would be paying $72.81/month. A savings of $9.09/month by using Ameren vs the current aggregation rate.
AGE (Affordable Gas & Electric) Aggregation Group does anticipate their programs will return to savings in the future, but at present they ARE higher for the next 8-month period. Again, the number to opt-out of the aggregation group is 866-694-1262.
Please feel free to contact Carterville City Hall for any assistance or questions.
